Panch Pokhari is located in the Langtang National Park, Sindhupalchowk district. It is the 9th highest Wetland Lake in the world. Panch Pokhari is situated at an elevation of 4100 meters from sea level. There are five holy lakes, it has different names called Bhairabkunda, Ganeshkunda, Saraswatikunda, Naagkunda, and Suryakunda. The place is quite famous among the visitor of both Buddhists and Hindu devotees in Nepal. A huge number of pilgrimage have been visiting Panch Pokhari during the Janaipurnima Mela to worship Lord Shiva in August month every year. This festival happens on the full moon according to the Nepali calendar. The season of fall (October- November) and spring (March- April) is the best time for trekking in Panch Pokhari. If you love to see Janaipurnima Mela, you should go in August to Panch Pokhari.  

Panch Pokhari Trek's itinerary is 11 days long. It is also a customized itinerary, you can make your itinerary as per your requirement. Panch Pokhari Trek is a fully guided camping trip package. The Trek route is a wilderness, you should take an experienced guide while trekking in Panch Pokhari. The Langtang National Park permit and TIMS card are needed to trek in Panch Pokhari. It is a remote place and a modern guesthouse is unavailable on the trail throughout the trek. You can get a local guest house somewhere in the Panch Pokhari trails. The Great Himalayan Trails goes through the Panch Pokhari route. We highly recommended you should visit once in your life.

Panch Pokhari Trek starts from Kathmandu via Chautara to Sano Okhreni by local bus or 4WD Jeep. Chautara is the headquarters of the Sindhupalchowk district. Almost 7- 8 hours’ drive and overnight at tented camp in Sano Okhreni. The next morning, after breakfast our Panch Pokhari Trek will continue. Trek passes through a lush forest of pine, juniper, rhododendron, oak, a ridge of mountains, rivers, waterfalls, local cowsheds, a settlement village, and a vista of the giant apex is an adventure and fruitful. Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345m)After arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will meet our representative who will receive you outside the airport with Nepal Glacier Treks & Expedition’s signboard and transfer you to your respective hotel by private vehicle. We will discuss the trip, introduce your trek leader/ guide in the evening and then have a pleasant stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02Drive to Sano Okhareni (2000m) 7- 8 hour drive by public busToday early in the morning, we drive from Kathmandu to Sano Okhareni. It takes around seven to eight-hour drive by public bus and five-hour 4WD jeep drive. We drive through the terraced field along with the Indrawati River and stunning villages. On the way, we can also see Chautara is headquarter of Sindhupalchowk district and Shyaule Bazaar then the trail continues to Sano Okhareni. Overnight stay at a tented camp or local house.

Day 03Sano Okhareni to Kami Kharka (2800m) 6- 7 hoursThe morning breakfast, the hike ascends toward Kami Kharka by passing a lush forest of Juniper, Kharsu oak, and small rivers. A gentle walk with sightseeing, you all get the Kami kharka after around 6- 7 hours. Dinner and tented camp at night.

Day 04Kami Kharka to Pauwa Bas (3100m) 5- 6 hoursAs the same routine of the morning, today is a stable walk over the flat land. The journey passes through the tranquil forest region. The trek goes through the forest of juniper, rhododendron, oak, and pine along with Chyochyo Danda (ridge) is the border of Jugal Rural Municipality and Panch Pokhari rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district. From here, you all can enjoy seeing the landscape of the mountain range with the magnificent local village. After a long walk, you will reach the campsite of Pauwa Baas. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 05Pauwa Bas to Hile Bhanjyang (3500m) 5- 6 hoursPauwa Bas, from here steep uphill route, ascends continually to the hill for around 3 hours. At the top, we can see exciting mountain panoramas then again trek descend downhill towards camp through the narrow and foresty trail. After 6 hours of hiking, we reach the campsite at Hile Bhanjyang.

Day 06Hile Bhanjyang to Nasimpati (3700m) 6- 7 hoursToday is a pretty easy walking day. Beginning of the trip, we hike a little bit steep uphill then a street long trail along with the rhododendron forest with a rocky hill. After enjoying the surrounding greenery panoramic and hilly slopes, we arrived at the Nasimpati successfully. Overnight at tent or local guesthouse.

Day 07Nasimpati to Panch Pokhari (4100m) 3- 4 hoursWe will head to Panch Pokhari after breakfast in the morning. Appromaxetely four hours smooth hike will reach popular Panch Pokhari Lakes, sightseeing, rest and extra activities. Overnight at a local guesthouse or tent.

Day 08Panch Pokhari to Tupi Danda (2300m) 5- 6 hoursThe early morning hike to the top of Panch Pokhari for a sunrise view over the Himalayas and down to camp. Trek down to Tupi Danda, overnight at a local guesthouse or tent.

Day 09Tupi Danda to Bhotang (2000m) 5- 6 hoursContinued trek down after breakfast in the morning. Overnight at a local hotel or tent in Bhotang village.

Day 10Bhotang to Kathmandu After breakfast in the morning, we drive back to Kathmandu via Melamchi Bazaar. Three to four-hour scenery drive will provide you with settlement villages, the big Indrawati River, and other interesting scenes during this trip. After arriving at a hotel in Kathmandu, refresh then either you stroll around the Thamel area, shopping for family, friends, and beloved ones, or rest in a hotel. An evening trek success dinner with a local culture program out of a hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 11Final departure! According to the itinerary, this is the last day of your package. On this day you will be transferred from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu from where you will board the flight to your next beautiful destination hoping to see you again. “Have a nice Journey”
